Combo 1 + 1A Showcase

Sunday, June 1, 2025

All Combo I and Combo IA classes perform in their own show separate from our annual Recital. This setting allows these younger dancers to perform for their friends and family without the nerves and stressors of a larger audience. This showcase includes a class demonstration, a routine performed by your little stars, and a presentation of flowers and certificates for each young dancer. These little ones are also treated to two performances by our Company Dancers and can watch these dancers up close!

Performance Venue

Show Day Protocol

All performers must be at the performance venue 15 minutes before the show starts. In the past, we have had dancers miss their number because they arrived late.

  • Please ensure that your dancer arrives in their full costume, with all accessories, and proper shoes.
  • Upon arrival at the performance venue, check in your child with their Classroom Mom, then find your seat.
  • Classes will perform a demonstration of their classwork
  • Company dancers will perform up close for your little ones.
  • At the end of the performance, dancers will be given a certificate and flower commemorating their first performance.

PLEASE DO NOT LET YOUR CHILD EAT OR DRINK IN THEIR COSTUMES OR NEAR ANY OTHER COSTUME

Dress Rehearsals

Monday, May 5 - Saturday, May 10 at Chester Valley Dance Academy.

If your child is absent for their MANDATORY dress rehearsal it causes great confusion to the remaining dancers as they try to compensate for the missing person. Our goal is to make sure that everyone feels confident on the day of the show and the dress rehearsal is vital to making this happen. Dress Rehearsal is at CVDA and is mandatory for all dancers participating in the showcase.

Be at the CVDA dressed and ready to dance 10 minutes before you are scheduled.

  • Before leaving your house, make sure you have your entire costume, shoes, tights, and all necessary accessories. The students may wear their costumes to the CVDA studio.
  • Hair & make-up should be done at home before you arrive at the studio.
  • Make sure to wear full make-up & have your hair pulled up, as it will be worn for the show.
  • Performers should not wear underwear with their costumes. They may wear a nude color bodysuit which will help when having a quick change.
  • Do Not Eat or Drink in or around ANY costumes!

Hair and Makeup

Hair

Dancers in the Combo Showcase should have their hair in a bun for the performance. We understand young children’s hair is not always cooperative and dancers may also wear their hair in a ponytial. Dancers with short hair that cannot go in a ponytail or bun may wear their hair down.

Makeup

We do not require Combo 1 and 1A dancers to wear full-stage makeup, but it is an important part of the performance experience to practice. Dancers may wear pink blush, red lipstick, brown eyeshadow and mascara or fake eye lashes.
