Chester Valley Dance Academy is proud to offer students with not only quality dance training at the studio, but also the opportunity to travel and participate in conventions, competitions, and master classes. The studio provides information on local conventions dancers can participate in on their own time as well as conventions the studio will participate with as a group. Conventions are a great way for dancers to experience different styles of dance from industry professionals.
This weekend, CVDA Dancers participated at the Elevate Dance Convention in King of Prussia, PA. Dancers took dance classes by industry professionals in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, hip hop and improv. Dancers Sophia and Emma enjoyed themselves in a challenging, but rewarding Improv class by Gabby Wright and learned an upbeat and exciting dance phrase in Hip Hop and a powerful contemporary phrase. Dancers also took classes in ballet, tap, and jazz. At the end of the day, all dancers were treated to a master class by Jessica Franco, assistant choreographer to Ariana Grande. In this master class, dancers learned how concerts are staged as well as choreography from Ariana Grande’s last tour. Emma & Sophia enjoyed being surrounded by local dancers and studios and the opportunity to learn from so many wonderful teachers.
