My CVDA Experience: CVDA Seniors lead “CVDA Sibs”

Chester Valley Dance Academy is proud to offer students with not only quality dance training at the studio, but also the opportunity to build life-long relationships with their classmates.  CVDA Seniors Emma Burke and Emily Plichta have spearheaded a program for our company students, CVDA Sibs. They have paired each company member with another as “CVDA siblings”.

“As the new seniors at the studio, we really want to focus on bringing together all company students as a family this year! Miss Cathy has been the best studio director in making sure that everyone at the studio acts as a family, mainly because we spend so much time together! We want to further reach her goal of bringing the dancers at the studio closer together by breaking the age barriers within the Company. With this goal in mind, we have decided to introduce you to our idea of Dance Siblings! This idea intends to bring the older dancers closer to the younger members because we are not in the same classes. We want everyone to feel like they are a part of this amazing family we are blessed to have!”

At this year’s Company Halloween Party, the upperclassmen revealed themselves to their younger assigned sibling.  Throughout the upcoming year, siblings will support each other by going to their Company performances and competitions since not all company groups attend the same events.  Some siblings show support by placing secret notes in one another’s dance bags for words of encouragement and others show support by bringing a small snack to their sibling on their “long dance night”.   The CVDA Company includes a number of nurturing Seniors who lead by example, spreading kindness and positivity throughout the group.  We are so happy to have such a caring group of students leading the company this year.

CVDA Siblings will be in support of one another this weekend at the Holiday Stroll!  Be sure to follow #CVDASibs on Instagram for more on this program throughout the year.
