Chester Valley Dance Academy is proud to offer its students performing opportunities throughout the year that not only enhance their performance skills, but also allow them to give back to the community in meaningful ways. As we reflect during this season of Thanksgiving, we are especially grateful for the chance to use dance as a way to uplift others, support important causes, and come together as a studio family.
This October, CVDA Company dancers participated in Dance for HER, a benefit concert supporting Unite for HER, a remarkable West Chester nonprofit that provides vital services and integrative therapies to individuals battling breast and ovarian cancers. The event brought together local studios and performing groups, each united in their commitment to make a positive impact. Throughout the fall, CVDA dancers continued their support by raising money as a team for Unite for HER by organizing a studio bake sale and reaching out to family and friends for donations. We are grateful for their generosity, compassion, and dedication.
This year’s performance season holds a special significance for the Chester Valley Dance Academy community. Earlier this fall, we lost a beloved member of the CVDA family, Miss Theda Nye. In the spirit of gratitude, our dancers honored her memory by dancing with intention and heart.
Company Modern III performed "Waves", choreographed by Annie McGillian, and our Company Lyrical performed “Time,” choreographed by Kenzie Reid. We extend our deepest thanks to our instructors for creating such incredible work for our dancers and for preparing them so thoughtfully for the stage.
This season, we are reminded how fortunate we are - to dance, to give back, and to share these moments as a community.
