Our Company dancers perform at community events and competitions throughout the region and receive focused training in a variety of styles. These Company Groups perform multiple times a year and often require additional rehearsal time outside of their weekly classes.

Who should audition for the Company?

Dancers ages 10 and up who are committed to training multiple days per week, love performing, and want to deepen their dance experience. The CVDA Company is a select group of dancers of who are invited to participate. It is important to note that participation in this program is by invitation only, and we do not take everyone who auditions. There are limited slots available, so we encourage you to have an open conversation with your dancer about this opportunity.

Please review the Company Commitment with your dancer and note that all Company dancers must take Ballet in the 2025-26 school year.

Audition Process

New Students interested in joining our CVDA Company for the 2025–2026 season must attend our Audition on Thursday, August 7, from 6:30 - 9:30. Students must register for the audition in advance in the Parent Portal under “Events”. Auditions will be broken up by genre to evaluate students for the respective Company groups:

• 6:30 - 7:30 Jazz/Hip Hop
• 7:30 - 8:30 Ballet/Modern
• 8:30 - 9:00 Tap

Dancers should arrive 15 minutes before the segment they are auditioning in.

Current Company Students will be evaluated separately. More information will be shared via email.

Audition Attire

Dancers are expected to arrive looking neat and performance-ready. It is recommended that they wear a leotard and tights, with optional accessories to suit their style. For ballet, a skirt may be worn. For jazz and modern, shorts or leggings are acceptable. Hair should be secured in a bun, and dancers must bring all appropriate footwear, including ballet shoes, jazz shoes, tap shoes, and pointe shoes (if applicable).

Summer Class Preparation

To best prepare for auditions, we strongly recommend enrolling in one or more of the following summer classes:

• Monday 6:45 Hip Hop for 12 & Up
• Monday 5:45 Performing Group & Garnet Jazz
• Tuesday 7:30 Company Modern I
• Wednesday 7:15 Amber/Company Jazz I
• Students should take their proper ballet class during the Summer session for evaluation for Company Ballet

NEW! Hip Hop Dance Team

We are also launching Hip Hop Dance Teams for ages 8-12 and 13+ beginning this fall. This special class allows dancers to perform at a spring competition and has less of a commitment than the Company, outside the regularly scheduled weekly class. To be eligible, dancers must take at least one additional technique class (hip-hop or jazz) alongside the Dance Team class during the 2025-26 year. This well-rounded training ensures dancers build the skills they need to shine on stage! Students interested need only sign up for the Hip Hop Dance Team class alongside their technique class of choice. This program is an exciting alternative to the Company for students who love to dance and may have additional activity commitments outside of dance.
