Maintaining your Dance Education at Home

Dear CVDA Families,

During this studio closure and time of uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic, we at Chester Valley Dance Academy are committed to providing continuous dance education for your student.  We will be holding revised weekly classes online and providing additional activities for our younger dancers to keep them engaged at home. Please check your e-mail for more information regarding our online classes.

  1. Provide a “Dance Space” for your student: Clear the couches in the living room, move the patio furniture outside, or move the cars out of the garage to give your student ample space for practicing.  While our teachers will be adapting their online classes to fit a variety of spaces, we want to make sure students are being safe and will not risk injury in cluttered rooms.
  2. Keep them on Schedule: We aim to provide classes as close to their regularly scheduled time as possible.  As students may become overwhelmed with schoolwork at home, remind them that dance class is not only a break in their heavy schedule but also a time to focus on themselves and their health.
  3. Practice with them: During this pandemic, there has been a spike in online, at home virtual dance classes, workouts, and fitness videos.  Choose one to do with your student to get you both moving at home!
  4. Schedule a Private Lesson: Many of our instructors are available remotely to review your child’s progress in their classes. This is a great way to set goals for the summer session to continue to build upon their dance technique.
