National Dance Week Begins!

April 21st – April 28th

Join us in celebrating dance during National Dance Week sponsored by the National Dance Foundation (NDF).  This year, National Dance Week is focusing on Inclusion, Kindness, and Community.  CVDA will be doing daily events surrounding these ideas, so be sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook to participate with us.  See some of our main events for the week below!

Free Zumba Class

Wednesday, April 25th | 8:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Come on in for a fun workout.  Move and groove to upbeat music while getting a full body workout.  No previous dance experience needed to feel great in this class.  Bring a friend for some extra fun!

Kick for Kindness Anti-Bullying Campaign

Participate in Kick for Kindness.  The Kick for Kindness Anti-Bullying Campaign is a call to action to all dancers to take the lead in showing kindness in their schools, organizations and communities to create awareness and to stand against bullying.our anti-bullying kick line. We will be recording videos of many classes on social media to show that CVDA Dancers won’t stand for bullying.

Dance Awareness Poster Contest

All students are encouraged to create a poster showing your friends what you love about dance; the different styles of dance, famous dancers, famous choreographers, dance shows, etc.  Be creative!  Winners from each age group will win a prize.  Posters will be displayed at Chester Valley Dance Academy during National Dance Week.

The deadline to submit a Dance Awareness poster is has been extended throughout the entire Dance Week.  Please limit your poster size to no larger than 12 x 24.  Our age categories are Ages 3-5, 6-8, 9-11, and ages 12 & up.

Dancegram Contest

CVDA Dancers are encouraged to post their best “dancegram” on Instagram.  Be creative!  Post your favorite dance pose or movement phrase.  You can even partner up with friends for a group shot! Be sure to use the hashtag #cvdadancers in your post and don’t forget to tag @chestervalleydance!
