Classes at Chester Valley Dance Academy begin September 10th! There’s just enough time to make sure you have everything you need before your first class!

Dance Attire

Please be sure to check the Dress Code for each class you take.  It is imperative that dancers arrive to class with the correct dance attire.   Each level and style of dance has its own unique dress code we would like each student to follow.  Many of our classes require our dancers to wear a leotard with tights. Please see our Dress Code Listing for the proper shoes for each class.

Hair Ties, Hair Nets & Bobbi Pins

For all classes, a dancer’s hair should be kept out of their face in a bun or a ponytail.  Tips and Tricks on the perfect ballet bun are available here.  You will want to purchase a few packs of hair ties and bobbi pins as they have a habit of disappearing when you need them most! It’s helpful to keep extra in your dance bag and your car for on-the-go hair styling.

Dance Bag

We ask that you kindly keep your belongings in a closed bag with your name on or inside it and store it in one of our dressing rooms.  Spending hours at the studio is common for some dancers, so please be sure to pack your dancewear as well as your homework and healthy snacks for in between classes. Students in our Combo Classes are also required to have a Dance Bag they bring to class with their ballet and/or tap shoes. Stay tuned for our post on the Top 10 things CVDA Dancers need in their Dance Bags!
