Celebrating Dance and Community: CVDA Company’s Fall Season Recap

This fall, the Chester Valley Dance Academy Company dazzled audiences with an exciting lineup of performances across the community. From lively festivals to meaningful benefit concerts, our talented dancers showcased their artistry, dedication, and love for dance. Here's a recap of the incredible moments our CVDA Company shared this season!

Our Company kicked off the fall season by performing at the Academy of Notre Dame’s Fall Dance Festival on Friday, September 13. This vibrant festival showcased performances by the Academy of Notre Dame's Dance Company, Chester Valley Dance Academy’s Company, and other talented local studios and performing groups. Set against the backdrop of a beautiful autumn evening, this annual event offered a relaxed, outdoor atmosphere where audiences could enjoy the crisp fall air while being entertained by a variety of captivating dance performances. It was the perfect way to celebrate the season and kick off a dynamic fall of dance!

On October 6, the Company performed at the Downingtown Fall Fest, delivering electrifying Hip Hop and Jazz routines with choreography by Mike Nguyen, Christine Swarm-Kusnierczyk, and Allison Cardamone. Amid the buzz of local businesses and performers, our dancers stood out with their high-energy presence and precision.

Later that day, the spotlight shifted to a cause close to our hearts: Dance for HER, a benefit concert supporting Unite for HER. This remarkable West Chester nonprofit provides integrative therapies to individuals facing breast and ovarian cancers. Company Ballet 3 performed the elegant Cheek to Cheek, choreographed by Kim Martin, while our specialty Lyrical group moved audiences with Bridge Over Troubled Water, choreographed by Kenzie Reid. CVDA dancers didn’t stop at performing—they organized a studio bake sale and personally reached out to friends and family, raising funds to support Unite for HER throughout October.

The season continued with a vibrant performance at the CommUNITY Dance Fest on Sunday, November 3rd, hosted by Beat Addikts at Collegium Charter School in Exton, PA. For the fourth year, our dancers embraced the festival's unique spirit, where all performers watch and cheer for each other from the audience. This special format fostered a one-of-a-kind atmosphere of camaraderie and encouragement. Our dancers shone in their diverse routines, representing the incredible range of talent and creativity within CVDA. A huge thank-you to our teachers for their choreography and to our Company dancers for their versatile performances!

As the holidays approach, the Company brought the magic of The Nutcracker to Eagleview Landing this past weekend. Performing select excerpts, our dancers captivated the audience with their grace and charm, offering a sneak peek into this timeless holiday favorite.

This fall was truly unforgettable for the Chester Valley Dance Academy Company. Every performance reflected their passion and commitment while spreading the joy of dance throughout the community.

Be sure to catch our dancers spreading holiday cheer at the Historic Yellow Springs Holiday Stroll on Friday, December 13th, at 5:30 pm! And don’t miss the magic of the season at their highly anticipated annual production of The Nutcracker on Saturday, December 21st at 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm, and Sunday, December 22nd at 3:00 pm. It's a celebration of dance and the holidays you won't want to miss!
