Get ready to bring the beach to the stage! This year’s opening number theme is inspired by Teen Beach Movie! Think fun, surf, sand, and high-energy dancing that kicks off the show with a splash!

If you're interested in joining the 2025 Opening Number and meet the criteria outlined below, please register online through the Parent portal under Events before the first rehearsal. Spaces for dancers are limited, but we also offer a “waiting list” for those interested.

Opening Number Requirements

  1. Participants must be ten (10) years old or older.
  2. A minimum of three (3) years of dance experience in one or more of the following styles: Ballet, Jazz, Modern, and the ability to quickly learn choreography is required.

General Rehearsal Policies

  1. A dance cast member is allowed to miss only TWO (2) EXCUSED rehearsals. An EXCUSED rehearsal is defined as an absence due to an emergency family situation or illness.
  2. Social functions will not be considered an excused absence.
  3. Rehearsals will commence on Friday, January 17th, from 5:45 to 7:15 PM and will continue every Friday or Saturday until the show, with a few Sundays as needed.
  4. Schedules will be available on our website at www.chestervalleydanceacademy.com. It is the responsibility of the student and/or parent to check the schedule weekly, as rehearsal times and days may change.
  5. A one-time fee of $220.00 per performer will be charged to cover the costs of costumes and rehearsals.
  6. To participate, you must complete the attached form to inform us of your availability. You must be available for either the A&B shows, C&D shows, or all four shows (no other combinations).  Complete this Mandatory Form
  7. Class Attire: Pink tights, black leotard, and hair styled in a neat bun.
  8. All participants must adhere to the rules, regulations, and policies established by Chester Valley Dance Academy, LLC during rehearsals and performances.
  9. The directors of Chester Valley Dance Academy, LLC and the choreographers of the Opening Number reserve the right to dismiss any cast member who fails to comply with the stated rules and requirements.
