CVDA Company shines at ELEVATE Dance Competition

High Scores, Judges Awards + More

This May, The CVDA Company took the stage at Elevate Dance Competition in Lancaster, PA, showcasing the dedication and artistry they have  been building all year. Dancers performed specialty solos, duets, and small groups alongside their company pieces, bringing months of rehearsal and refinement to life before a panel of judges. We're thrilled to report that our students not only received high marks across the board, but truly captured the judges' attention and hearts with their performances.

Beyond standard scoring, judges in each division awarded  special recognition to dancers whose passion, technique, and choreography stood out, and CVDA students earned plenty of that spotlight.

  • Kaitlyn Fedyk received the "Magnetic Movement" award for her performance of "Unforgettable", choreographed by Tanina Urbanski.
  • Will McKinley received the highest overall score for ages 12 and under for his lyrical routine “Tonight” choreographed by Jenna McKinley.
  • Sabrina Roman received the "Pure Power" award for her execution of Where Souls Linger, choreographed by Lisa Munoz.
  • Mia Cibelli received the Judges' Award for Technique for her performance of Paquita Etoile, staged by Kim Martin.
  • Paige Cannon received the "Powerful Presence" Judges' Award for You Are A Memory, choreographed by Allison Cardamone.
  • Mya Mazzarese, Mia Cibelli, and Reagan Hickey received the Technique Award for their trio performance, Pretty Peppy, choreographed by Kim Martin.
  • Tiana Patel received a "DJ Award" for her jazz solo, Looking at Me, choreographed by Kenzie Reid.
  • Kenzie Reid received the “Stunning Staging” award for the Company Lyrical piece, Falling.
  •  Ethan Zieff earned a special Choreography Award for his self choreographed solo,  I Hope You Find Your Way Home
  • Mia Cibelli’s riveting performance of Eclipse choreographed by Kim Martin and Ethan Zieff earned a perfect score, making it the highest scoring routine of the entire competition weekend!

The recognition didn't stop there. Across the weekend, CVDA dancers earned numerous Top 10 finishes, high-marking adjudications, and additional special honors. We are proud of our newly established Hip Hop Dance team, who won first place in their division in their very first competition. Company Ballet 3 also claimed first place in their division and an Elevate Elite score for Danse Macabre, choreographed by Kim Martin.

We are incredibly proud of every CVDA student for the professionalism, dedication, and heart they brought to every performance. A competition weekend like this is truly a team effort, made possible by the countless hours our teachers invested in preparing these routines for the stage, and by the unwavering support of our CVDA families. Thank you all for making this such a memorable weekend!
